Interpretation

Consecutive interpretation

This type of interpretation consists in the interpreter listening to a brief statement by a speaker and then produces translation. This is usually used during commercial negotiations, press conferences, training, etc. Consecutive interpretation does not require any additional technical equipment be used. Within this category of interpretation standard and court (sworn) translation is provided.

Simultaneous interpretation

This type of interpretation consists in the interpreter producing simultaneous translation while listening to statements made by a speaker. This is usually used during international conferences, conventions and similar types of meetings with large numbers of attendees. Simultaneous interpretation requires the use of technical equipment and per each language translated two interpreters must be used who will change at half-hour intervals. Within this category of interpretation booth and whisper translation is provided.

INTERPRETATION SERVICE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Engagement commences from the time an interpreter has been ordered and showed up for work, and continues until they have been released from the engagement.

  1. A minimum job is a set of 4 hours/half-day (for simultaneous interpretation), and in the case of out-of-town interpretation, 8 hours, even if the job is shorter. Customers are also required to cover all costs associated with the interpreter’s travel.
  2. Every interpretation hour commenced counts as a full hour.
  3. Breaks shorter than 2 hours are considered as time worked. Any breaks longer than 2 hours must be reported to the Agency when ordering the service.
  4. For cancellations made less than 2 days prior to the ordered service customers will be charged a minimum job of 4 hours (depending on the type of interpretation).
  5. For on-the-road arrangements customers are required to provide any necessary travel, accommodation and meals for interpreters.
