MAart Agency Ltd was established over 25 years ago (in 1991) and is a leading translation service provider (TSP) specialising in European languages. We have extensive translation and localisation expertise in the fields of: life sciences (pharmaceuticals, medicinal products, health care services, medical devices, clinical trials), finance and accounting, technology and technical projects including localisation, legal and the public sector documentation (including all the relevant EU institutions).
MAart was the first company in the world to obtain independent third-party fully accredited ISO 17100 certification (April 2015) and earlier EN 15038 certification (January 2007). Our certificates were issued following audits by Bureau Veritas Certification - an independent, fully accredited international certification body. . This certification is complimentary to ISO 9001 that MAart first implemented in 2004. Furthermore, MAart works according to ISO 13485 (for medical and pharmaceutical projects), and SAE J2450 and ISO/IEC 82079-1 for technical projects.
It must therefore be stressed that as a quality-oriented translation service provider we work with professional vendors and freelance translators who can also provide documented evidence of fulfilling at least one of the following ISO 17100 minimum competence requirements:
- a degree in translation, linguistics or language studies or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognised institution of higher education;
- a degree in any other field from a recognized institution of higher education and has the equivalent of two years of full-time professional experience in translating;
- have the equivalent of five years of full-time professional experience in translating.
We select our freelance translators/interpreters and vendors on the basis of compliance with the above competence and experience requirements, and all contracted services are subject to a strict revision and QA process. Therefore, we kindly request that you provide us with detailed information concerning your competence and experience by filling in a short vendor/freelancer application form on-line: Translator Registration Form and send it to the following e-mail address: .
We shall process your application asap after receiving the completed form and the relevant documentation substantiating your eligibility (this includes copies of relevant certificates, references etc.). Please make sure that you include all the information about your language pairs, areas of specialization and professional experience in the form. You can additionally attach a standard Europass format CV as well as any specific co-operation conditions that you think we should be aware of.
Our procedures and strict adherence to the requirements of our quality system also requires (depending on your language pair, experience and specialization) that you additionally perform or provide a brief sample translation in the given area of specialization. All such sample translations are checked by senior members of our Quality Control Department team and some feedback may be provided as needed. Such samples are based on blind document fragments from previous projects - they do not contain any confidential client data, are not used for any other purpose other than testing potential translators, and are not required for any specific deadline. Please note, however, that any applications that are not accompanied by copies of documents substantiating your eligibility shall be deleted within a year of submission, so it is advisable to complete the process promptly after filing the application.
MAart Quality Assurance and Control Process
In accordance with the requirements of ISO 17100 and our quality system, all translated documents are revised by a competent reviser. Each translation delivered to MAart has to be of excellent quality so each translator has to check and double-check the text to ensure that everything has been done according to specification and there are no spelling mistakes or any other errors in the text prior to delivery. Each translation shall then be additionally QA tested and revised by a MAart reviser for linguistic, factual and terminological accuracy against the source text. Following the initial revision and QA testing the reviser may decide to either return the translation to the translator for corrections or implement any necessary revision in-house at the translator’s expense (if the revision process is extensive and the deadlines or quality issues exclude the possibility of returning the translation to the translator for corrections). In order to ensure that this process is comprehensive and efficient all MAart translators are sometimes asked to perform some revision jobs on a project-by-project basis.
