Peter Reynolds

Peter is an Irish national domiciled for over a decade now in Warsaw.

He holds an BSc in Computer Science and an MBA degrees from the Open University, and is a localisation and translation industry veteran. Prior to becoming a consultant with MAart Peter was with Idiom Technologies Inc.(now SDL PLC) for 2 years. As director of the LSP Partner Program at Idiom Peter was responsible for making their global LSP partners program a successful and innovative venture. Before Idiom he worked for over 10 years on language technology development for global localisation companies: Lionbridge, Bowne Global Solutions and Berlitz GlobalNet. While there, he managed the Dublin development team responsible for BerlitzIT, Elcano, Freeway 2.0 technology solutions, and internal project and vendor management tools.

Peter has always been actively involved in the development of translation and localisation standards (notably XLIFF and Transdlation Web Services at OASIS) for more than 10 years. Until 2008 (when XLIFF 1.0 was published) he was Secretary of the XLIFF Technical Committee and chaired the Translation Web Services TC at OASIS. He is still involved in OASIS and TILP as well as being the Irish expert for ISO & CEN standards, Irish representative to ISO TC 37, Convener of WG1 (Translation) at TC 37/SC5. Peter was the project editor for the ISO 17100 standard (Translation Services - Requirements) which is the international standard for translation, and he is currently the editor for two new ISO standards - ISO 20771 (Legal Translation Requirements) i ISO 21999 (Translation QA and Assessment - models and metrics).  to  and training auditors for the EN 15038 standard certification.
As the CEO of TM-Global Peter annually organises the international TM-Europe Conference and co-ordinates the specialist TM-Global Translation and Localisation Industry Survey, works on consulting projects and training courses - for auditors of industry stabndards, implementation of systems and technologies, localisation etc.

At MAart Peter is responsible for consulting, technology solutions and training programmes (especially in CAT, TMS and MT oprimization).
